Water Activities
Swan River Kayaking
16 Main St, Dennis Port, MA 02639
A perfect way to enjoy the outdoors is with an afternoon on the water. The Swan River is a picturesque landscape that you can explore on a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard. With trips timed around the tides, you venture out and back with the tides, so you can have an easy paddling experience. Depending on the tides, you may paddle north to Swan Pond, or south towards the ocean; either way, you are sure to see a plethora of wildlife, with a family of swans to the north on the pond.

Whale Watching
Whether in Provincetown for the day, or the Mid-Cape for a week, there is no shortage of whale watches that depart from port. Spend a few hours out on the ocean with your family observing some of the largest mammals in the world. Off the coast of the cape, there is a chance to see humpback, finback, and minke whales (26). During the tour, your guides will not only point out the wildlife, but oftentimes share stories about them since the whales have been in the area for many years.
Because these boats move pretty quickly out on the ocean, multiple layers are recommended as it can get chilly with the breeze. Also, with not much shade on these boats, sunscreen is advisable. Make sure you also bring a camera to record these memories for a lifetime.
